look at this, fascinating!
The Pistone got stuck in two places, top and bottom diagonal corners. The cylinder should be fine with some sanding. I don’t think there are any scratches, just aluminum build up from pistone.
New Pistone on it’s way direct from Mr. Simonini himself. Soon to arrive.
damage
I will be accepting theories on why this happened, starting now. . .
“I think it’s because the mail jet wasn’t big enough. it was 106 dellorto. This atrocity occurred at full throttle.”
Also, in case you were wondering what would happen if your engine seized on a ciao going 50mph or so. It slows down really fast. tire skidding, and belt slipping to a rapid stop.

this makes me want to cry!!! Do you think this happened because of the cooling fins you chopped off? are the melts in the relative areas?
Comment by turd March 22, 2008 @ 2:35 amIt may have something to do with it, but it doesn’t really match up with that side of the cylinder. I think it was just too lean. I’m sure some more cooling wouldn’t hurt. I want to add a fan on the flywheel, maybe an air scoop. ha
